Emergency Preparedness Fundamentals | OMHCC Non-Hospital Healthcare Training

Is your facility emergency preparedness plan up to date? Are you aware of your facility emergency preparedness plan? Do you need to develop a plan or make revisions based on the 2021 CMS Updated Guidance for Emergency Preparedness-Appendix Z of the State Operations Manual (SOM)?

The updated 2021 CMS SOP Appendix Z includes elements focusing on natural and man-made disasters, facility- based disasters (e.g., equipment and utility failures, care-related emergencies), cyber-attacks, interruptions to normal supply of water, food, medications, and medical supplies, in addition to emerging infectious diseases (e.g., influenza, measles, mpox). All facilities impacted by the CMS guidance document are invited to attend! This includes, but is not limited to long-term care, dialysis, home health agencies, critical access hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, rural health clinics, and federally qualified health care centers.
