Fungal infections can have symptoms similar to illnesses caused by bacteria or viruses, making them difficult to diagnose.
During Fungal Disease Awareness Week, September 14–18, learn when to “Think Fungus.”
If you have an infection that isn’t improving, talk to your healthcare provider and ask whether it could be fungal.

Fungal diseases start where life happens.
Fungal Disease Awareness Week is September 14-18.
You can be exposed to fungi that cause pneumonia through activities like gardening, hiking, & touring caves.
Fungal skin infections can be confused with other skin conditions. If you use a non-prescription antifungal, avoid products containing steroids, which may worsen the infection.
There are hundreds of types of fungal infections but only a few antifungals. As fungal diseases & antimicrobial-resistant fungal infections increase, the need for new antifungal treatment is critical.
Fungal diseases start where life happens. You may have a fungal disease without realizing it. If you have an infection that’s not getting better, despite treatment, talk to your healthcare provider- it could be fungal.
