🎉 We Have Our Virtual Happy Hour Winners! 🎉
A big thank you to everyone who shared their wisdom and advice during International Infection Prevention Week! We loved hearing your insights and celebrating the amazing work you do every day.
After a week of fantastic comments, we’re excited to announce that @Jenny Jill and @Lindsy Nelson Kroenke will be joining us for a virtual happy hour with our Infection Prevention team! 🍻💻
We asked our community of Infection Preventionists: "What’s the best advice you’ve gotten as an IP?" And wow, the responses have been inspiring! Here are a few golden gems from IPs that commented on the post. These show their heart and thoughtfulness behind infection prevention:
💬 Kate Tyner (Infection Preventionist at Nebraska ICAP): "Best advice I've ever received was, 'Find your joy.' That one came from Shelly Schwedhelm. I think that is the secret to happiness in career and work!"
💬 Sarah Stream (Infection Preventionist at Nebraska ICAP): "The best advice I’ve gotten was that not all IPs have to be an RN. There are other clinical backgrounds (like mine) that contribute other perspectives and can be successful."
💬 Chris Cashatt (Infection Preventionist at Nebraska ICAP): "Confirm, confirm, confirm before taking any steps or sounding alarms. It has saved me countless time to confirm the organism. More often, it is not an outbreak."
💬 Jenny Jill (Infection Control Coordinator at Great Plains Health): "When coaching staff, use the sandwich approach: 🥪 Say something nice, mention what needs improvement, and follow with something nice again."
💬 Margaret Prinz (Retired Infection Preventionist): "I found my joy in teaching infection prevention and safety! Never was 'work.' Enjoy the moments."
